Palace with Napoleon Museum
Arenenberg Castle is situated at one of the most beautiful vantage points in the Lake Constance region. In 1816, Hortense de Beauharnais, Napoleon I's stepdaughter, chose Arenenberg Castle as her seat of exile. She extended the complex and furnished the magnificent salons in a stylish manner. The castle, which is still originally furnished today, welcomes museum guests like Queen Hortense’s friends.
On a guided tour you will learn how Hortense lived with her son Louis, who later became Napoleon III, the last emperor of France.
Special annual exhibits make visits to the Napoleon Museum a unique and new experience every time.
